【design】
These pants feature a baggy silhouette with a bold thigh width. Easy pants with an adjustable drawstring at the waist. A structured pattern is used with a straight back and tapered front. Many of the eaves of traditional Japanese architecture look straight but actually contain curves. As if they were extracted from nature, they have natural bending lines that fit the body when worn. The seams are offset from the side lines, making the cut stress-free when worn. Although the silhouette is wide, it does not feel loose, and the generous amount of fabric brings out the high-quality class of the fabric.

[Straight lines and deformations]
At first glance, the eaves of traditional Japanese architecture appear to be straight, but in fact many of them contain curves. In the Japanese concept of lines, lines are formless, and indefinite lines are considered to be the force that determines the shape. Straight lines and curves are not thought to have different origins, but are created by forces that use indefinite lines as their mother. In contrast to the Western concept of lines, the opposition between straight lines and curves is an essential difference. And the tools used to draw straight lines and curves are also different. In the West, geometric principles such as straightedges, compasses, and cloud-shaped rulers are used. On the other hand, in Japan, shapes are extracted from threads and nature. These differences lie deep in the cultures of East and West. Just as Japanese architecture extracts shapes from nature, the straight lines of two-dimensional patterns create naturally bending (curved) lines by following the three-dimensional shapes of the body.

AFTERHOURS is a project born from the desire to create clothes like a free jam session, when four people - a designer, a pattern maker, and a fabric developer - came together. They propose timeless items based on their commitment to quality through a common language of eclecticism born from the resonance of their respective backgrounds and a praise for craftsmanship.
