The washing instructions have changed since December 2016.

New symbols have been added, such as for "enzymatic bleach" when bleaching colored or patterned fabrics and for "tumble drying" when using drum-type washer-dryers. In addition, the applicable temperature for fabrics can now be displayed in more detail, and the number of washing symbols has increased from 21 to 44.

Washing process symbols The bucket symbol indicates the washing process (hand washing or washing machine).

: The liquid temperature is limited to 95℃ and can be washed normally in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 70℃ and it can be washed normally in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 60℃ and the product can be washed normally in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 60°C and the garment can be washed gently in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 50℃ and it can be washed normally in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 50℃ and the product can be washed gently in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 40°C and the product can be washed normally in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 40°C and the garment can be washed on a gentle cycle in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 40°C and the garment can be washed on a very gentle cycle in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 30°C and the product can be washed normally in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 30°C and the garment can be washed gently in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 30°C and the garment can be washed on a very gentle cycle in a washing machine.

: The liquid temperature should be limited to 40℃ and it can be washed by hand.

: It cannot be washed.

Bleaching Process Symbol The triangular symbol represents the bleaching process.

: Chlorine and oxygen bleaching processes are possible.

: Oxygen bleaching is possible, but chlorine bleaching is not possible.

: Bleaching is not possible.

Tumble Dry Process Symbol The symbol with a circle inscribed in a square represents the tumble dry process after the wash process.

: Tumble drying is possible after washing at a high temperature of up to 80°C.

: Tumble drying is possible after washing at a low temperature of up to 60°C.

: Tumble drying after washing is not possible.

Symbol for natural drying process The symbol with lines inside a square indicates the method of natural drying after washing, depending on the direction and number of lines.

: It is best to hang dry.

: It is best to hang dry in the shade.

: It is best to hang it out to dry in the shade when wet.

: It is best to dry flat.

: It is best to dry flat in the shade.

: It is best to dry flat when wet.

: It is best to dry it flat in the shade.

Ironing symbolThe ironing symbol represents a home ironing process.

: Ironing can be done with a maximum bottom temperature of 200°C.

: Ironing can be done with a maximum bottom temperature of 150°C.

: Ironing can be done without steam, with the bottom temperature limited to 110°C.

: Ironing is not possible.

Dry cleaning process symbolThe circle symbol represents dry cleaning and wet cleaning processes, including tumble drying and finishing of textile products.

: Can be dry cleaned using standard perchloroethylene and specified solvents.

: Can be dry cleaned mildly using perchloroethylene or specified solvents.

: Standard dry cleaning processes can be performed using petroleum-based solvents.

: Mild dry cleaning treatment can be done using petroleum-based solvents.

: Cannot be dry cleaned.

Wet cleaning process symbols

: Can be subjected to normal wet cleaning treatment.

: Can be used for mild wet cleaning.

: Can be used for very mild wet cleaning.

: Wet cleaning is not possible.
